Monosaccharide Secretion into the Gastric Juice from Rat in Response to Gastrointestinal Hormone

Abstract
In soluble fractions of gastric juices, free monosaccharide concentrations were measured by employing gas chromatography from chronic gastric fistula rats in hypodermal infusion responses to pentaagastrin, secretin, and cholecystokinin(C.C.K.)per 30 minutes sa as to study the influence upon the monosaccharide secretion into the gastric juice. The results were as follows; 1. Responses of the fucose, glucose, galactose, mannose and N-acetylglucosamine secretions to pentagastrin showed significantly maximal increase in 30 minutes, which thereafter gradually decreased but N-acetylglucosamine concentration distinctly increased in 90 minutes. 2. Monosaccharide searetions in response to secrtin were that fucose, glucose and mannose concentrations gradually increased up to 90 minutes, which also significantly increased in 90 mintues, and that galactose and mannose concentrations distinctly increased in 30,60 & 90 mintuer but N-acetylglucosamine concentration gradually decreased after peaking significantly in 30 mintues. 3. Fucose, giucose, galactose & mannose concentrations in response to C.C.K.significantly peaked in 30 minuter, which thereafter gradually decreased but N-acetylglucosamine concentration did¡¯nt show significant change. 4. Significant positive correlations between the different components of monosaccharide concentrations were such as galactose to fucose, mannose to fucose & mannose to galatose in response to pentagastrin, and mannose to glucose, N-acetylglucosamine to galactose & glucose to fucosr in response to C.C.K.. 5. Significant positive correlations between gastrointerstinal hormones to influence upon monosaccharide secretions were between pantagastrin &C.C.K. in view of fucose and mannose secretions.
